A man of bad character punishes his own soul.
You will never find happiness until you clean the garden of your heart from the poisonous plants of envy, hatred, spite, and resentment.
Narrated An-Nu'man bin Bashir:
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying,
...Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart.
[Sahih al-Bukhari 52]
those who purify their souls will certainly have everlasting happiness. and those who corrupt their souls will certainly be deprived (of happiness). (Quran 91 : 9 - 10)
...there is no change in the words of Allah...
[Quran 10 : 64]
Ziyad bin `Ilaqah narrated from his uncle, that he said:
“[The Prophet (ﷺ)] used to say: ‘O Allah, I seek refuge in You from evil character, evil actions, and evil desires (Allāhumma innī a`ūdhu bika min munkarātil-akhlāqi wal-a`māli wal-ahwā’).’”

Anger
Anger is an negative emotion. Instead of fighting the world, kill your negative emotion [anger].
A Maulana was asked - What is Anger? He gave a beautiful answer.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Your biggest enemy is your uncontrolled mind.
Our uncontrolled minds do more damage to us than are hurt by others. Please look at your uncontrolled mind as your enemy; do not come under its sway.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
A man said to the Prophet (ﷺ) , "Advise me! "The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do not become angry and furious." The man asked (the same) again and again, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said in each case, "Do not become angry and furious."
[Sahih al-Bukhari 6116]
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger."
[Sahih al-Bukhari 6114]
...Those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; allah loveth the good; (Quan 3 : 134)
It was narrated from Sahl bin Mu’adh bin Anas, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever restrains his anger when he is able to implement it, Allah will call him before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection, and will give him his choice of any houri that he wants.”
[Sunan Ibn Majah 4186]
